What is Gallex? Gallex Label Gallex MSDS

Gallex is designed to treat plants already infected with crown gall bacteria.

Gallex is a chemotherapeutant that was developed by the University of California, Berkeley ( Shcroth, M.N. and D.C. Hildebrand. 1968. Phytopathplogy 58:524-525 ).

An oil based emulsion, it contains several hydrocarbons that selectively penetrate and kill crown gall tissues.

GallEx has been widely used for decades in many countries and with great success.
Use

Plants commonly treated with Gallex include almond, apple, blueberry, caneberry, cherry, filbert, grape, kiwi, olive, nectarine, peach, pear, pecan, persimmon, plum, pine, prune, walnut, and ornamentals ( willow, poplar, roses, eunoymous and others ).

Gallex may also be used to eradicate burr knot, olive knot and rust gall of pine.
Application

Gallex may be applied directly to galls via paintbrush.

Very large galls may be partially removed; in the case of walnuts, galls may be completely removed.
